Attendance and Illness
Pupils need to attend school regularly to benefit from their education. Missing out on lessons leaves children vulnerable to falling behind. Children with poor attendance tend to achieve less in both primary and secondary school. If you are struggling to get your child into school please contact the office and we will be happy to provide assistance.
If you are unsure if your child is ill enough to attend school, please send them to school as we will always ring you if they are to unwell to be in school.
If you are booking medical appointments, please try to ensure that they are booked after school. If this is not possible, please try to make the appointments after they have gotten their registration mark in school as missing this mark means your child will be marked as absence for half of the day. Registration for children is taken at 8:45 in the morning and 1:00 in the afternoon.
Please ensure your child arrives at school by 8:45am. If they arrive later than this they will be marked in as late which will affect their attendance.
In managing children’s attendance, we will operate in line with the LA Education Investigation Service, the government legislation .
